Weber Grill Reviews
Weber is the brand name that symbolizes the best in grilling experience in the U.S. and around the world.
Weber grills have a very colorful history. Just over fifty years ago, Weber Brothers Metal Works, based in Illinois is in the business of making metal buoys for the Coast Guard. An employee of that company, George Stephen, also a grilling enthusiast, discovered that a buoy as a cooking base and the top half as cover, makes for an excellent grill. A tripod and the cover handle completes the grill. This design then became the now famous, Weber grill. Thus, Weber-Stephen Products was established in 1958.
The company grew steadily and in 1959, it sold about 15,000 units that year and a growth rate of 30% each year. As years passed, it started to focus on the higher end of the market in the 70's.
As Weber Grills gained popularity, George Stephen began battling copyright cases in the early 1980's, as companies abroad started copying his designs. An event, the National Hardware Show, got his attention when he noticed the products being displayed have copied his grill design. It then prompted him to file trademark cases against these companies that lasted for five years.
When gas grills entered the market in the middle of the 1980's, Weber was still at the forefront of the industry. He invested hugely in the technology and it paid off. Weber gas grills began outselling charcoal grills by mid-90's with its Genesis brand of grills.
Each Weber grill is constructed from U.S.-made steel and coated with a porcelain enamel finish that make them withstand any weather condition or continuous heavy-duty use. The vents use, rust-repellant aluminum. The handles are made from glass-reinforced nylon that makes it unbreakable. Unlike most grills, Weber uses only high-quality plastic for wheels that don't crack. There will be no fears that moving around your grill will be a concern.
Weber's latest offering include the Black 22.5" One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill, the Smokey Joe Charcoal Grill and the Go Anywhere Charcoal Grill. Its gas grills are sold as Genesis, Summit and Spirit series. The Weber Q Portable outdoor grills and the Go Anywhere gas and Go Anywhere charcoal grills complete the Weber brand of grills.
Weber grills have so many fans here and abroad mainly because of its very simple and attractive design. The high quality design comes standard in all its models and range of grills that any buyer will be sure that his purchase guarantees the decades of experience built into each grill. With Weber grills built to last, you are assured of decades of trouble-free use.
